What is Past Simple Tense?

We use the Past Simple to talk about an action that began and ended in the past. The action might have happened either in a moment or over a longer period.

Use of Did and V2 in First, Second, Third Person singular and Plurals

PERSON	SINGULAR	PLURAL	DID and V2
1st Person	I	WE	did / V2
2nd Person	YOU	YOU	did / V2
3rd Person	He, She, It	They	did / V2

The formula for Past Tense | Sentence Structure of Past Simple

1. PAST TENSE is divided into
   • Past Simple
     1. Affirmative Sentence = Sub + V₂ + Obj. + Others.
     2. Negative Sentence = Sub+ did +not+ V1+Obj.+ Others.
     3. Interrogative Sentence = Did+Sub+V1+Obj. + Others?
     4. Negative and Interrogative Sentence = Did+ +Sub+ not +V1+Obj.?
